Helene Jegado

Born in Brittany, France in 1803, Helene Jegado once complained, "Wherever I go, people die". She was quite right - because she was poisoning them. She started experimenting with poison when she was a teenager. Whilst working for a family of seven people, she killed them all with poison. Later on when she was hired again, her other employers met the same fate. However no one suspected her.

In 1831 Helene have killed several families, and she feared arrest. So she joined a nunnery and took her vows. However she was later suspected of poisoning several sisters before renouncing God and returning to her previous life. Helene continued getting hired for new jobs, and the employers continued to drop like flies.

Between 1841 and 1849, Helene stopped poisoning people with arsenic and settled down for a while. But after this she was working in one household where two people mysteriously died. At last she was suspected, especially after her overly defensive performance during a routine police interview. Helene never confessed to any crimes, but was beheaded in 1851.
