Armin Meiwes

Born in 1961, Armin Meiwes was a frequent user of the Internet. Over the Internet Meiwes made an arrangement with Bernd Jurgen Armando Brandes, to kill and eat him. In March 2001, the pair met up at Meiwes’ place, and the deed was carried out. Meiwes ate parts of Brandes before Brandes was even dead. He even cut off and ate Brandes’ penis while he was still alive.

In December 2002 Meiwes was arrested after posting requests for new victims over the Internet. He was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 8 and a half years in prison in 2004. In April 2005, a German court ordered a retrial, as they believed he should be given a life sentence for murder instead of manslaughter.
